Our mission at Mohale Project is to partner with people and organizations (Africa’s heroes) that support individuals for a hopeful future in Lesotho, Africa.

Mohale (Moe-hall-ee) means HERO in Sesotho, the language of Lesotho. And in a nation that is overwhelmingly devastated by poverty and HIV/AIDS, we believe it takes a hero to forge change and create hope. Inspired by two of these heroes at Beautiful Gate Care Centre in Lesotho, Laura Cutshall and Amy Johnstone joined forces to create an organization to support their life-saving work. 

We are a new organization, established in 2010 within Swazi Kids Society operating under the scope of the Society for Education of Children in Southern Africa. We currently support vulnerable children in Lesotho at Beautiful Gate Children`s home.

It is our goal to grow our organization to further support vulnerable children in Lesotho and to partner with other programs and organizations for education for children, leadership for youth and women, skills training for women, and community development and health projects.

We will build our programs on the core principles of:

·         Partnership for scalable growth and breadth of impact

·         Grassroots, community level programs and ownership

·         Financial accountability
